Oh how I get how budgies are helping heal you! Their delightful sounds are healing music. I had one all my younger years and in to college. What a joy they are!
Great writing, old friend. Parakeets (that’s what we called them, too, when I was young) have always been a part of my life…from pets at my grandparent’s house to my own to make noise for my children…I’d have one now if I was home enough to enjoy its company (but I’m not, so no cage in the house).
